Concern for missing 9-year-old Essendon boy

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing Essendon boy Sathvat Chilukura.

Investigators have been told the 9-year-old contacted his father by phone about 9am today and told him that he was going to play in the park situated behind their Stuart Street home.

About 11am family attended the park but Sathvat was not their.

Police and family have concerns for Sathvat's welfare due to his age and his disappearance is out of character.

Sathvat is described as 143cm tall, with a slim build and black hair and believed to be wearing a green jacket and red t-shirt.

Police have released an image of Sathvat in the hope someone may have seen him and can provide information regarding his whereabouts.

Anyone who sees Sathvat is urged to contact Moonee Ponds Police Station on 9373 5200.
