Concern for missing man Derek

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing man Derek.

The 75-year-old was last seen leaving a home in Ollerton Avenue in Newborough on Wednesday 2 March about 11am.

It is believed Derek left the home to go for a walk along the rail trail in Moe.

Police and family are concerned for Derek's welfare due to his age and as he has Alzheimer's.

It is out of character for Derek to go missing and an extensive search by police and State Emergency Service personnel have failed to find him.

An image of Derek has been released in the hope someone recognises him and provides information on his current whereabouts.

Derek is described as having a medium build with grey hair.

He was last seen wearing a brown t-shirt with white stripes, black shorts, sneakers and a cap.

Anyone who sights Derek is urged to call Triple Zero (000) or with information about his whereabouts is urged to call Moe Police Station on 5128 1100.
