Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing man Matt.
The 49-year-old was last seen at his Moscript Street address in Campbells Creek on 21 August about 1.30pm.
Police are concerned for Matt's welfare due to the disappearance being out of character.
Police are currently searching bushland in the Campbells Creek area with the assistance of the Air Wing and other emergency services.
Matt is described as about 170cm tall and has a thin build; he has grey hair and a long grey beard.
An image of Matt has been released in the hope someone may recognise him and provide information on his whereabouts.
Anyone who sees Matt is urged to call Triple Zero (000) or with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Castlemaine Police Station on (03) 5470 4100.
