Concern for missing man Vlasios

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing man Vlasios.

Officers have been told the 81-year-old left his home in Oakleigh Crescent in Ormond on Thursday 29 September to walk to a friend’s home about 9am.

Vlasios visited the home, which is near the intersection of North and Koornang roads, before the friend phoned Vlasios’ wife about 11am to say he was heading home.

Sadly he didn’t arrive home and hasn’t been seen since. Family members searched for Vlasios throughout the day before reporting him missing late yesterday.

Police and family are concerned for Vlasios’ welfare as he has dementia and is prone to getting confused and disorientated.

It is unclear where Vlasios may be headed however on previous occasions he has been found near Brighton Baths and the Oakleigh Soccer Club.

An image of Vlasios has been released in the hope someone recognises him and provides information on his current whereabouts.

Vlasios is described as having a medium build, is about 182cm tall and has short grey hair.

He was last seen wearing glasses, black pants, a black jacket, black cap and white runners.

Anyone who sights Vlasios is urged to call Triple Zero (000) or with information about his whereabouts is urged to call Caulfield Police Station on 9524 9580.
