Community events are at the heart of life in Nillumbik.
But organising larger events takes ongoing commitment and funding certainty.
To support community-led events with lasting local benefit, Nillumbik Shire Council has opened applications for Connected Nillumbik - Festival and Event Program (2027-2030).
The program provides funding for organisers of annual events that connect people, support local businesses and attract visitors to our region.
It continues Council's support for significant and vibrant local festivals and events, with a strong focus on community benefit and long-term event sustainability.
Successful applicants will receive funding support over three years, providing greater stability to plan, grow and run events with long-term social value for Nillumbik residents.
Through Connected Nillumbik, Council will also help groups build event skills, produce environmentally conscious events, and create opportunities for volunteers and inclusive participation.
Mayor Naomi Joiner said the program would enable local organisers to deliver events that make a meaningful contribution to community life.
"Community events bring people together and help create a strong sense of belonging and pride in Nillumbik," Mayor Joiner said.
"We're looking to partner with local not-for-profits, community groups, businesses and event organisers. If your event has the potential to make a positive impact in Nillumbik, we encourage you to apply."
About Connected Nillumbik
Applicants can apply for between $10,000 and $65,000 per year to support one nominated annual event from July 2027 to June 2030.
Applications close: at 11:59pm on Sunday 6 September 2026.
