Cops nab speedster at Narre Warren road works

A 27-year-old man had his car impounded after he was allegedly caught travelling at more than three times the speed limit near an active road works area in Narre Warren last night, Victoria Police say.

The maroon Ford Territory was clocked at 149km/h in a 40km/h road works zone on the Monash Freeway about 10.20pm.

Narre Warren police intercepted the vehicle shortly afterwards on Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road and immediately impounded his vehicle.

The Eumemmerring man is expected to be charged on summons with speed dangerous, exceed speed by 45km/h or more and careless driving.
