Cops nab speedster near Bendigo

A 28-year-old man had his car impounded after he was allegedly caught travelling at more than double the speed limit near Bendigo this afternoon, Victoria Police say.

The black Holden Commodore was clocked at 235km/h in a 100km/h zone on the Calder Highway about 4pm.

Police intercepted the vehicle shortly afterwards at a car wash in Ironbark.

Bendigo Highway Patrol officers immediately impounded his vehicle.

The Lethbridge man is expected to be charged on summons with reckless conduct endangering life, exceed speed and other traffic related offences.
