Cops on patrol from dusk till dawn in Moreland

Brunswick Police were out from dusk till dawn on Saturday night as part of an operation focusing on public safety on Sydney Road, Victoria Police say.

Operation Dusk saw police flood the entertainment strip from early evening through to Sunday morning.

Police patrolled the popular strip to detect and disrupt antisocial or criminal behaviour, ensure liquor licencing compliance and road safety.

Local police members were supported by specialist units including Highway Patrol and the Mounted Branch.

Police spoke to a total of 145 people throughout the night and achieved the following results:

•87 penalty notices were issued.

•377 preliminary breath tests

•3 defect notices

•1 vehicle was impounded

Officers also attended 18 licenced venues and detected one breach of liquor licencing compliance.
