Coronavirus - Tasmania snapshot

Peter Gutwein,Premier

The Tasmanian Government is working hard to address the challenges faced by COVID-19 and reduce the impact on Tasmanian communities.

As at 6pm last night, there were two new cases of coronavirus in Tasmania, bringing the total number of active cases to 80.

Both these cases relate to men in their 20s in the NW of the state.

To date, there has been 207 cases of coronavirus with a total number of 7,983 tests done.

117 cases have recovered and been released from isolation.

As of last night, there are 13 inpatients at Tasmanian hospitals due to coronavirus including one ICU patient.

Sadly, a 90 year old man from the North West passed away from COVID-19 yesterday, bringing the total number of deaths in Tasmania to 10.

My thoughts are with everyone effected by this pandemic and I will continue to do everything in my power to fight it.

I urge all Tasmanians to stay safe and look after one another during this difficult time.
