Correctional officer arrested over inappropriate relationship with inmate

A Corrective Services NSW officer has been arrested over an alleged inappropriate relationship with an inmate at a correctional facility in Sydney's west.

Last week, detectives from the Corrective Services Investigation Unit commenced an investigation following a referral from a correctional facility in Sydney's west, over an alleged inappropriate relationship between a female correctional officer and male inmate.

Following inquiries, officers arrested a 25-year-old woman at a home at Ingleburn about 8am today (Monday 25 May 2020).

The woman was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where charges are expected to be laid.

The woman's employment has been suspended.
