Correctional officer charged over inappropriate relationship with inmate

A correctional officer has been charged over an alleged inappropriate relationship with an inmate at a private facility in Sydney's north-west.

Last week, detectives from the Corrective Services Investigation Unit commenced an investigation following a referral from a correctional facility in Sydney's north-west, over an alleged inappropriate relationship between a female correctional officer and male inmate.

Following inquiries, officers arrested a 33-year-old woman at a home at Bass Hill about 9.45am today (Friday 6 March 2020).

The Miller woman was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with engage in relationship with inmate etc cause safety etc risk.

She has been granted strict conditional bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court on Thursday 26 March 2020.

The woman's employment has been suspended.
