The Commissioner for Public Employment has been advised that Correctional Officers will be participating in protected industrial action today, Friday 26 October 2018.
This action has been approved by the Fair Work Commission and union members are entitled to participate.
Community safety is paramount and Correctional Services has a number of mitigation strategies in place to ensure public safety is not compromised during periods of industrial action.
The Police Commissioner will also provide assistance where required.
