Council Adopts Key Plans And Annual Report

Councillors 2024

At last night's meeting of Campaspe Shire Council, Councillors endorsed three significant plans, with the adoption of its Financial Plan, Asset Plan and Road Management Plan. Council also received the 2024/25 Annual Report, providing a comprehensive overview of the year's achievements and performance.

Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Daniel Mackrell said the adoption of these three key plans represents a direct flow-on from the development of the new Council Plan 2025–2029.

"These key documents translate the strategic priorities and vision outlined in the Council Plan into actionable frameworks for financial management, asset renewal, and infrastructure maintenance.

"By aligning these plans with our Council Plan, we ensure that our long-term investments, service delivery, and infrastructure standards are guided by the community's needs and aspirations identified during the Council Plan's development," Cr Mackrell said.

The long-term Financial Plan 2025/26–2034/35 sets out Council's strategic approach to managing its finances, ensuring that essential services and infrastructure can be delivered to the community both now and into the future.

"The Financial Plan outlines Council's commitment to responsible fiscal management, long-term capital investment, and maintaining financial sustainability in the face of rising costs and evolving community needs.

"We are focused on delivering services and infrastructure that meet the needs of our growing and diverse community, while ensuring we remain financially resilient."

Council also adopted its ten-year Asset Plan 2025–2035, which provides a clear framework for the management, renewal, and development of Council's infrastructure assets such as roads, buildings, parks, and stormwater systems.

"The Asset Plan ensures we are investing in the right places at the right time, maintaining the assets our community relies on every day.

"It reflects our commitment to transparency, accountability, and delivering value for ratepayers."

In addition, the updated Road Management Plan was endorsed. This plan sets clear standards for inspecting and maintaining the Council-managed road network across the shire.

"This plan is critical for supporting safe and reliable travel for residents, businesses, and visitors across the shire," Cr Mackrell said.

Council also received the 2024/25 Annual Report, which details Council's performance against the Council Plan, highlights major projects and community initiatives, and provides audited financial and performance statements.

"The Annual Report demonstrates our ongoing commitment to transparent reporting and accountability to the community and provides a great snapshot of what we've accomplished over the past 12 months," said the mayor.
