Council Backs Two Motions for LGNSW Conference

Bayside Council has agreed to submit two Notices of Motion for consideration to the Local Government NSW (LGNSW) Annual Conference that will be held in Penrith this November.

The first motion calls for LGNSW to recognise that local government is best placed to deliver and support not-for-profit safe early childhood education.

The second motion is related to illegal dumping and calls on the Government to consider reintroducing Regional Illegal Dumping (RID) squads to help tackle illegal dumping.

Bayside Mayor Edward McDougall said

"Council will be attending this Conference in November and it will be a tremendous achievement to have two Notices of Motion accepted for inclusion," Mayor Edward McDougall said.

"Council feels very strongly on these issues and I am hopeful that the support of other Councils will put us in a better position to advocate for more State Governmnet support."
