The Hills Shire Council is looking for passionate young people to become the next Sydney Hills Youth Ambassadors.

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne is encouraging Hills locals aged between 15 to 24 years old who are eager to represent the voice of young people in The Hills, to apply for the 12-month Youth Ambassador Program.

"This program is an excellent opportunity for young people to make a difference in our community and ensure their voice is heard in local government," Mayor Byrne said.

"The role of Youth Ambassador includes participating in community events, speaking at Council functions, being part of The Hills Youth Army, promoting youth opportunities in schools and the community, and acting as a Council representative at relevant events.

"If you aspire to give back to your local community or if you are passionate about improving youth issues, I encourage you to apply for this fantastic program."

As part of the role, the Youth Ambassadors will be required to collaborate with Council to develop and deliver a project for young people during their one-year term.

Applicants must be aged between 15 to 24 years old and reside in The Hills.

Nominations close on Thursday, 12 June 2025.
