Council Finalist in 2025 North Coast Tourism Awards

Clarence Valley Council has been recognised as a finalist in the 2025 North Coast Regional Tourism Awards, with the announcement made by the NSW Tourism Association and Destination North Coast.

Celebrating the region's most outstanding tourism operators and experiences, the awards showcase excellence, innovation, and resilience across 11 categories. Clarence Valley Council's tourism team, known as My Clarence Valley, was acknowledged for its creative, community-led approach to visitor servicing, sustainable development, and destination marketing.

My Clarence Valley's submission focused on a sustainable approach to the visitor economy and improvements made to its tourism operations in the past 12 months. These included the adoption of the Clarence Valley Destination Management Plan (2024–2030), the delivery of collaborative Visitor Information Services, the introduction of a business-led Visitor Information Guide and the ongoing commitment to becoming an Eco Certified Destination.

Clarence Valley Mayor Ray Smith said he is pleased to see the work My Clarence Valley does for the visitor economy get recognised and praised the collaborative work the team does with our local businesses.

"This nomination isn't just for the My Clarence Valley team, but also for the local businesses that work alongside them and the collaborative effort that contributes to the development of Clarence Valley services and experiences for visitors.

"We're excited to see representatives of the Clarence Valley business community also recognised in the awards and would like to congratulate Harwood Hotel and Jacaranda Festival, who are also named as finalists in their categories.

"We wish them the best of luck."

Winners will be announced at a gala ceremony on Thursday 31 July, and all finalists have progressed into the NSW Tourism Awards program. State winners will then go on to represent NSW at the Australian Tourism Awards.
