Council implements COVID-19 precautionary measures

Parkes Shire

On Sunday 18 July 2021, NSW Health confirmed that a truck driver delivering to Parkes has tested positive for COVID-19. Contact tracing is underway, with further details to be released, including exposure sites hopefully within the next 24 hours. We will continue working closely with NSW Health and the Western NSW Local Health District and will share more information as soon as it becomes available.

A pop-up drive through COVID-19 testing clinic has been established at the Parkes Showground, and will be in operation:

  • 2pm - 5pm, Sunday 18 July 2021
  • 8am - 4pm, Monday 19 July 2021
  • 8am - 4pm, Tuesday 20 July 2021

Residents displaying symptoms (no matter how mild they are) or have potential contact to the known case you should get tested immediately and self-isolate for 14 days.

To help stop the spread of COVID-19:

  • If you are unwell stay in, get tested and isolate
  • Wash your hands regularly.
  • Take hand sanitiser with you when you go out
  • Keep your distance. Leave 1.5 metres between yourself and others
  • Wear a mask in situations in all non-residential settings
