Council's not kitten around with end of month cat sale

Find the purrfect new addition for your home with the Townsville City Council Animal Care and Adoption Centre's sale on cats and kittens.

Felines will be up for grabs for just $30 until November 30.

All cats are already desexed, microchipped and have had their first vaccination. The sale price includes a permit to keep the cat.

Community Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability Committee chairperson Margie Ryder said the sale was a great chance for animal enthusiasts to add a pet to their home.

"We have some really beautiful cats and kittens at the Animal Care and Adoption Centre who are looking for their new home," Cr Ryder said.

"There are all kinds of feline personalities in the centre at the moment, so there's a cat there for you whether you're looking for a high-energy cat to add to your home or more of a relaxed companion."

Cr Ryder said it was important to book in to visit the cats available for adoption.

"To book an appointment just call 0457 769 362 and pick a time to come in and meet the cats that are looking for their new home," she said.

"Before you head in be sure to check out the profiles of each cat on the Animal Care and Adoption Centre webpage. These profiles tell you a little bit about each cat, including their breed, their age and some of their personality traits."
