Council to livestream Wednesday's meeting

MidCoast Council's next Ordinary Council Meeting will be held this Wednesday 28 April.

Members of the community can watch the proceedings via a link on Council's website, with the livestream beginning at 2pm, or can attend in person if they have registered to do so.

While members of the public are now permitted to attend, social distancing must be maintained and in accordance with the Public Health Order, the maximum number of members of the public to attend the Council Meeting is capped at 25 (adhering to the two square metre rule).

Registration to attend can be completed online or by calling Council's customer service centre on 7955 7777 before noon on Tuesday 27 April.

A shuttle service from out the front of the MidCoast Council Library in Victoria Street, Taree will operate for those who are registered to attend and require transport.

The meeting will consider a number of items, including the delivery and operational plan for the 2021-22 year, which includes the annual budget, several development applications and Council's Draft Biodiversity Framework, prior to a consultation to receive community feedback on the plan.

Councillors will also consider a proposal to modify traffic conditions at the intersection of the Pacific Highway, Dibbs Street and Woosters Lane in Nabiac. It is recommended the modification is not supported.

Other items on the agenda include the adoption of a pedestrian access and mobility plan for the local government area, following a period of public exhibition, and the General Manager's contract of employment.
