The NSW Office of Local Government (OLG) notified Council on Thursday 26 February 2026 that Councillor Andrew Thaler is suspended from office as of Monday 23 February 2026 until Saturday 23 May 2026.
Under section 440L(1) of the Local Government Act 1993, Cr Thaler is not entitled to exercise any functions of the office of councillor during the suspension period, nor is he entitled to any fee, remuneration, expense payment, or the use of Council facilities.
The OLG has written to Cr Thaler this afternoon to inform him of their determination regarding his suspension from office, following proceedings in the New South Wales Civil and Administrative Tribunal this week regarding the present order.
