East Gippsland Shire Councillors are heading to the High Country on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 October to meet residents, businesses and groups and hear about what's happening in their communities.
Mayor Cr John White said the visits provide an opportunity to hear from locals, discuss what's working and where improvements could be made, and share priorities and ideas in an informal setting.
"Our teams are doing some great work with the community across the High Country - from the mountain bike trails and supporting economic development and the rural sector, to infrastructure improvements and place planning," John said.
"We're looking forward to seeing and hearing about this work first-hand and engaging with the community. We have a mix of community open sessions and targeted meetings and events planned."
An open invitation is extended to the community to attend:
- Ensay lunch: Monday 27 October, 12.00-1.30 pm, Ensay Hall
- Benambra afternoon tea: Monday 27 October, 2.30-4.00 pm, Benambra Recreation Reserve
- Omeo community session (including presentations from local groups): Monday 27 October, 5.00-6.30 pm, Omeo Recreation Reserve
