COVID-19 Vaccination Additional Support Clinics open COVID-19 Vaccination Additional Support Clinics open

Sarah Courtney,Minister for Disability Services

Two dedicated COVID-19 Vaccination Additional Support Clinics have opened today in Launceston and Hobart to assist Tasmanians who require additional support through the vaccination process.

The clinics are for people living with disability and/or mental illness, their carers, disability support workers, and people who may have anxiety about medical procedures.

Longer appointment times, additional space and easy to read resources will be provided at the clinics which will run from Tuesday 6 July until Friday 16 July from 9am-4pm.

The southern clinic will be located at Blundstone Arena, 15 Derwent Street, Bellerive, and the northern clinic will be located at the Vinnnies Building, 330-336 Invermay Road, Mowbray.

A slower paced Quiet Clinic will be held on 16 July at both sites, with the capacity to make adjustments for people who need a lower sensory experience.

These clinics are being run by the Tasmanian Government in partnership with Aspen Medical Group, and the Department of Health has been engaging closely with local disability service providers.

To book an appointment people should call the Public Health Hotline on 1800 671 738 and let the operator know they want to book into an 'Additional Support Clinic' or 'Quiet Day clinic'. Further information is also available at the Tasmanian COVID-19 website: www.coronavirus.tas.gov.au/vaccination-information/covid-19-vaccination

The health and safety of Tasmanians remains our number one priority, and I thank those Tasmanians that have rolled up their sleeves already and urge anyone eligible to make a booking and receive their first dose.
