Crash investigators call for witnesses following fail-to-stop fatal in Orange

Officers from the Central West Crash Investigation Unit are continuing their inquiries into a fail-to-stop fatality in Orange last month, NSW Police say.

About 10.20pm (28 May 2017), emergency services were called to Summer Street, near the intersection of Hill Street, after the body of a woman was located on the road by a passing motorist.

Officers attended and found the body of a 36-year-old woman.

A crime scene was established and investigations commenced.

Initial inquiries suggest the woman walked from a nearby motel, before she was struck by a vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle allegedly failed to stop following the crash and officers are now attempting to piece together exactly how the incident occurred.

Police would like to speak with the driver of a light blue metallic older style sedan that was travelling east on Summer Street or in the Orange CBD between 10.15pm and 10.30pm on Sunday 28 May, 2017.

Officers are also appealing for any business owners that may have CCTV operating along Summer Street, or in the CBD for the stated times, to get in contact with Senior Constable Little or Senior Constable Nocente from the Central West Crash Investigation Unit on (02)6332 8605.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
