A woman has died after being struck by a truck at Dapto.
Emergency services were called to the Princes Highway, near the Fowlers Road overpass, about 7.45am on Friday, where they found a woman with serious injuries.
She died at the scene. The woman hasn’t been formally identified so her age is not yet known.
Officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command attended and were told by witnesses the woman was struck by a tipper truck.
The male driver of the truck wasn’t injured but was taken to hospital to undergo mandatory blood and urine testing.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway.
Anyone who witnessed it, and hasn’t yet spoken to police, is urged to come forward.
