A $6.2 million contract to construct a new road called'Flightpath Road' was recently awarded to local contractor Allan King &Sons Construction Pty Ltd.
The Territory Labor Government is creating local jobs andsupporting private development by constructing this new industrial connectorroad in accordance with the Berrimah North Area Plan.
The project which will create a new intersection off AmyJohnson Avenue and will be located approximately 800 metres north of the StuartHighway - supporting more than 60 local jobs.
Construction of the new 'Flightpath Road' will provideimproved access to Berrimah North, including the Berrimah Industrial Precinct.
Key aspects of the new road include four 'T'intersections, open stormwater drainage and an associated stormwater detentionbasin which will manage stormwater in this area.
Traffic management will be in place during constructionwith speed reductions and lane closures. Amy Johnson Road will remain openat all times.
Construction is scheduled to commence later this month, withworks anticipated to be finalised in December 2019.
