Crime Stoppers caller sought in Albury

Police are appealing for a caller to Crime Stoppers who may have witnessed a stabbing near Albury last year to come forward, NSW Police say.

About 8.30pm on Sunday 6 November 2016, police were called to a stabbing in Webb Street, Lavington.

A 35-year-old man was located with a stab wound to the chest.

He was taken to Albury Hospital where he later died.

Police attached to the Albury Local Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

As part of the investigation, police wish to speak with a member of the public who called Crime Stoppers and left an anonymous message about 2.40am on Monday 7 November 2016.

Police urge this person to call Albury Police Station.
