Congratulations to Cristy Morgan – January's Kookaburra Volunteer of the Month

Cricket Victoria is proud to congratulate Cristy Morgan of Baxter Cricket Club, named Kookaburra Volunteer of the Month for January 2026 in recognition of her outstanding contribution to community cricket.

Cristy's impact on Women's and Girls' cricket in her region has been truly remarkable. She began her volunteer journey coaching one of Mornington Peninsula Cricket Club's inaugural girls-only teams, helping set the foundation for female participation in the sport.

Since then, Cristy has gone on to establish Baxter Cricket Club's first-ever senior women's team, where she manages, coaches and captains the side with passion and commitment. Her leadership has created a welcoming environment for players aged 13 to 42, fostering a strong sense of community and belonging throughout the club.

In addition to her coaching and playing duties, Cristy serves as Secretary of Baxter Cricket Club and oversees the club's social media presence, growing its reach and engagement across the cricket community.

Off the field, she also chairs the Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association's Women's Cricket Working Group, working to ensure ongoing development and opportunities for women and girls in the region.

Cristy's tireless dedication, enthusiasm and ability to support people of all ages embody the true spirit of volunteerism in community cricket.

Cricket Victoria congratulates Cristy Morgan on this well-deserved achievement and thanks her for her ongoing contributions to our great game.

Cristy will receive a $200 Kookaburra Cricket voucher as the Volunteer of the Month for January.
