Critical Incident Declared After Sadleir Crash

A critical incident investigation is underway following a crash in Sydney's south west overnight.

About 11pm (Saturday 14 February 2026), officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command were attempting to stop an e-bike rider who was allegedly riding without a helmet on Bungulla Street, Sadleir.

Upon sighting police, the rider allegedly continued riding away from police before hitting a pole.

A 39-year-old man was treated at the scene for serious injuries before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

A crime scene was established and a critical incident team from Auburn Police Area Command will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The investigation will be subject of an independent review by the Professional Standards Command and overseen by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission.
