A critical incident investigation has been launched following the death of a man on the central coast this evening, NSW Police say.
Just after 5pm today, police were called to a lookout at Terrigal, following reports a man was on the outside of the fence.
Officers from Brisbane Water Local Area Command and Police Negotiators attempted to speak to the man; however he fell and died at the scene.
The man is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged in his 60s.
A critical incident team from the Northern Region will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
