Critical incident investigation in Auburn

A critical incident investigation has been launched following the injury of a woman in Auburn tonight, NSW Police say.

Just before 6pm today, emergency services were called to a railway bridge on Station Road after a concern for welfare.

Whilst police were speaking with a 37-year-old woman, she committed self harm.

The woman was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical but stable condition.

A critical incident team from South West Metropolitan Region will now investigate all circumstances surrounding the incident.

That investigation will be subject to independent review.

No further details are available at this time; however, police are calling for witnesses to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
