Critical incident investigation launched following fatal crash on state's Mid North Coast, NSW

A critical incident investigation has been launched after a fatal crash on the state’s Mid North Coast this morning, NSW Police say.


About 2am tomorrow, police attempted to stop a vehicle in Kempsey.

The driver allegedly failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated which continued on the Pacific Highway to north of Macksville, when the vehicle was seen to collide with a B-double.

The driver of the vehicle died at the scene.

The male driver of the truck was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established at the location, which will be examined by specialist forensic officers.

A critical incident team from the Northern Region will now investigate all circumstances surrounding the incident.

All information will be provided to the Coroner.
