Critical incident investigation launched in Sydney's west

A critical incident investigation has been launched following a crash in Sydney’s west today, NSW Police say.

About 2.30pm today, a 22-year-old man was riding a motorcycle along Amy Street, Regents Park, when the rider hit a vehicle stopped at a pedestrian crossing.

A fully-marked police vehicle was in the vicinity of the crash at the time of the incident.

Officers assisted the man at the scene before he was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics and taken to hospital, reportedly in a critical condition.

No one else was injured during the incident.

A critical incident team from South West Metropolitan Region will now investigate all circumstances surrounding the incident.

That investigation will be subject to independent review.
