Critical incident investigation underway after crash - Croydon Park

A critical incident investigation has been launched after a woman was injured when she was struck by a vehicle in Sydney's inner west this morning.

About 5.40am (Friday 2 August 2019), emergency services were called to Coronation Parade, near Tangarra Street, Croydon Park, following reports a woman had been struck by a Toyota Hilux.

Police have been told the Hilux was giving way to an approaching police vehicle, when the pedestrian was struck.

An 83-year-old woman was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The 60-year-old male driver of the Hilux was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

A critical incident team from Bankstown Police Area Command will now investigate all circumstances surrounding the incident.
