Critical incident investigation underway following fatal crash in Londonderry

A critical investigation has been launched after a fatal crash in Sydney’s west this morning, NSW Police say.

Just after 8am tomorrow, emergency services were called to The Driftway, Londonderry, following reports a bus, carrying school students, and car had collided.

The male driver of the car died at the scene.

Five students were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for minor injuries, with three of them taken to Nepean Hospital.

The driver of the bus was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Prior to the crash, an unmarked police vehicle was in the vicinity; however, the full circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation.

A crime scene has been established and will be examined by specialist forensic officers.

A critical incident team from North West Metropolitan Region will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

No further details are available at this time; however, police are appealing for witnesses to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.
