Critical investigation commenced after man dies in Waterloo

A critical incident investigation has commenced following the death of a man in Waterloo, NSW Police say.

Police acting on information from the public attended George Street, Waterloo, today (Wednesday 7 February 2018) to look for a man who was wanted on warrants.

Just before 11am, emergency services responded to a 31-year-old man, who died as a result of a fall from a balcony.

Officers attached to Redfern Local Area Command have established a crime scene.

A critical incident team from Botany Bay Local Area Command will now investigate all the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The investigation will be subject to an independent review and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.

No further details are available at this time; however, police are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information who can assist police should contact Crime Stoppers.
