Logan detectives have charged a second person in relation to the death of a three-week-old boy on 22 July 2024.
Detectives from the Logan Child Protection and Investigation Unit and Child Trauma Unit launched Operation Whiskey Nell to determine the cause of the child's death.
Detectives undertook an extensive and protracted investigation and recently received results from comprehensive medical examinations, which indicate the child sustained internal injuries.
As part of ongoing investigations, on 4 February, detectives arrested a woman who was also known to the child.
The 24-year-old Southport woman has been charged with one count of cruelty to children under 16 years (Domestic violence offence).
She is due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on 4 March.
Investigations are ongoing.
