Curtin University has risen to a national ranking of ninth in Australia in the Center for World University Rankings' (CWUR) 2019-20 edition.
This year's ranking, which measures the academic performance of 20,000 universities across the globe, also positioned Curtin 360th in the world - a jump of 40 places.
Curtin University Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry said the University's latest ranking results showed a continued improvement on the world stage.
"The Center for World University Rankings result places Curtin ninth in Australia, an increase of seven places that positions Curtin among the nation's highest-ranking universities," Professor Terry said.
"This global ranking assesses the quality of education and academic staff, alumni employment and research performance, confirming Curtin's position among the world's top academic institutions."
Based in the United Arab Emirates, the Center for World University Rankings is a consulting organisation that provides policy advice, strategic insights and consulting services to governments and universities to improve educational and research outcomes.
The Center's annual academic rankings of global universities places an equal emphasis on the learning environment and research performance.
