Cyclist dies after crash; man charged, NSW

A man has been charged after a cyclist died when his bike and a car collided at Double Bay late last year, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to New South Head Road, Double Bay, shortly after 6.30pm on Monday 13 November 2017, and found a man had died at the scene.

Police from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command with assistance from Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit established a crime scene and commenced inquiries.

A 49-year-old man from Point Piper, who was the driver of the vehicle, was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Following investigations, just after midday today (Sunday 18 February 2018), a man attended Rose Bay Police Station where he was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for dangerous driving occasioning death and negligent driving occasion death.

He is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 18 April 2018.
