Cyclist killed in collision at Mandurang

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the death of a cyclist at Mandurang near Bendigo earlier today, Victoria Police say.

The collision occurred on Sedgewick Road when the male cyclist was struck from behind by a Mazda sedan driven by a 20-year-old Kangaroo Flat woman at 10.15am.

The cyclist, a 23-year-old Strathfieldsaye man, was air-lifted to a Melbourne hospital but died several hours later.

The driver of the Mazda, who was also conveyed to a local hospital, stopped at the scene and has been assisting police with their enquiries.
