Damage To Police Vehicle In Alice Springs

An NT Police Force vehicle has been damaged during an arrest in Alice Springs earlier today.

Around 11:40am, members from Strike Force Viper and the Dog Operations Unit were making enquiries on Karnte Road to identify and locate an outstanding offender.

The offender allegedly fled into bushland and was arrested after being tracked by Patrol Dog Axe. As police were in the process of securing the offender, community members allegedly began throwing rocks at the parked police vehicles in attendance. The window of one vehicle was smashed as a result.

Police members safely departed the location and did not suffer any injuries. The arrested offender was conveyed to the Alice Springs Watch House.
