Police have charged a man following a series of incidents in North Brisbane this afternoon, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged on January 29 a man entered a house in Morayfield and stole a black hatchback that was parked at the house.

It will be further alleged about 2.40pm on February 4 a man entered a supermarket on Newmarket Road, Newmarket and left the store without paying for some grocery items. The man was approached by two staff members who stated they were calling the police. The man gave the items to one of the staff members and got into the driver’s seat of a black hatchback.

Whilst in the car park of the shopping centre the hatchback was involved in a crash with a parked car and the driver of the hatchback failed to remain at the scene of the crash.

It will be alleged at about 2.50pm the man attended a residential address on Samford Road at Alderley and threatened the male occupant demanding the man’s watch. He punched the resident in the face a couple of times and then stole the man’s watch before leaving the house.

It will be alleged shortly before 3pm the man entered a licenced bottle shop on Alderley Road Alderley and stole four bottles of spirits before leaving the store.

It will be further alleged about 3.25pm the vehicle was involved in a second crash on Samford Road Gaythorne where the hatchback collided with two sedans and again the driver failed to remain at the scene of the crash.

The hatchback travelled a short distance before coming to a stop near Burdekin Street. The man fled from the vehicle but was followed by members of the public and police before been located and arrested a short time later.
