Dangerous driving charge at Redbank Plains, QLD

Police have arrested and charged a 21-year-old Yamanto man with dangerous driving and failing to stop a motor vehicle after a car fled from police during a traffic stop at Redbank Plains last night (September 17), Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged that police intercepted the vehicle in Huntley Street around 11.45pm and as officers were speaking to the two male occupants the vehicle drove off.

Police attempted to intercept the car however it failed to stop and sped off.

Approximately an hour later the car was located in Hallets Road, Redbank Plains after it had been involved in a single vehicle crash.

The two occupants, the 21-year-old driver and his 27-year-old passenger, were located by police a short time later.

The driver was released on police bail and is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on October 12 where he also faces charges of serious assault police and possession of a utensil.
