Dangerous driving charges, Willawong to Forest Lake

A man and woman have been charged following the pursuit of a stolen vehicle that ended in Forest Lake last night, Queensland Police say.

Preliminary investigations indicate around 5.56pm, Polair 2 kept a stolen white Holden Commodore sedan under surveillance as it travelled along Compton Road at Calamvale until local police could arrive.

A short time later police observed the vehicle on Beaudesert Road at Algester where officers successfully utilised a tyre deflation device.

Police activated lights and sirens however it will be alleged the vehicle accelerated away at speed onto Learoyd Road at Willawong

It will be alleged that during that time, the vehicle continued to drive in a dangerous manner onto Blunder Road, Lorikeet Street and then into Inala.

Polair 2 continued surveillance with police pursuing the stolen vehicle as it travelled onto Government Road at Richlands.

As the vehicle travelled into Cardwell Street at Forest Lake, it will be alleged the driver and passenger of the vehicle attempted to flee the vehicle before being arrested without incident.
The vehicle was stolen from a Kingston Road business at Slacks Creek on Monday.

The driver, a 39-year-old Augustine Heights man has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, failure to stop and driving without a licence.

He is due to appear in the Richlands Magistrates court today.

The passenger, a 33-year-old woman is assisting police with their enquiries.

Investigations are continuing.
