Dangerous operation arrest at Carseldine, QLD

A man has been arrested after a dangerous driving incident last night that ended in Carseldine following a police pursuit, Queensland Police say.

Around 9.15pm, police were called following reports of a stolen Mazda CX5 allegedly driving erratically on the Houghton Highway at Redcliffe.

Police initially attempted to intercept the vehicle, however the driver is alleged to have evaded officers at that time.

Polair 2 kept the vehicle under surveillance until police successfully utilised a tyre deflation device at Deagon.

It will further be alleged the driver continued travelling in the vehicle with its front two tyres deflated and rims damaged.

Due to the damage the driver lost control of the vehicle before crashing into a tree on Gympie Road at Carseldine.

A short time later, a 25-year-old Redcliffe man was taken into custody and is assisting police with their inquiries.

A male Senior Constable sustained minor injuries during the incident and has since been discharged from hospital.

The vehicle was stolen from a Richlands address yesterday.

Investigations are continuing.
