Dangerous operation at Margate

Two people have been charged following investigations into a dangerous driving incident yesterday, from Deception Bay to Redcliffe.

At 11.30am, it will be alleged a vehicle was stolen from Philip Parade in Deception Bay before it was driven at excessive speed.

A short time later, the vehicle lost control and crashed into a pole on Duffield Road at Margate.

The pair allegedly left the scene of the crash but were apprehended after a short foot chase into swampland.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, fraud, evade police, unlicensed driving, dangerous operation of a vehicle, and obstruct police.

A 12-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and stealing.

The vehicle was monitored with the assistance of Polair.
