Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death charge, Mount Isa

Police have charged a man following investigations into a fatal jet-ski crash at Lake Moondarra, near Mount Isa on November 19, 2016, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged around 11am on November 19, a 34-year-old man and a six-year-old boy were riding a jet-ski at Lake Moondarra when it crashed into the edge of the lake, striking a nine-year-old boy.

The man and the six-year-old boy both sustained injuries and were transported to hospital.

Search and rescue teams located the boy deceased around 6am the following morning.

A 34-year-old Sunset man has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death, operate ship while unlicensed, operate ship whilst not registered and drug driving.

He is due to appear in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court today (January 25).
