Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing grievous bodily harm, Manunda

Police have charged a teenage boy following investigations into a serious traffic crash in Manunda on Saturday, March 30.

It will be alleged a teenage boy was riding a motorcycle, which had been reported stolen from Brinsmead on March 29, along Fearnley Street at around 7:30pm.

Police will further allege the rider collided with a 5-year-old boy in the street, before leaving the scene.

The 5-year-old boy sustained a serious leg injury and was transported to Cairns Hospital for treatment.

Police attended and located the motorcycle dumped at a nearby educational facility.

A 14-year-old Manunda boy has been charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlicensed driving and dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm.
