Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle charge at Pimpama, QLD

Police have charged a man after a car crashed into a pool at Pimpama last night, Queensland Police say.

Officers were called to an address on Jacobs Well Road around 8.30pm following reports a car had driven through a fence and into a pool at a residence.

It will be alleged that the driver fled the scene on foot, however he was located nearby a short time later.

No one was physically injured as a result of the incident. The damage and structural integrity of the property will be assessed.

An 18-year-old Ormeau man has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, drink driving and fail to comply with duties of a driver involved in a crash.

He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on February 15.
