Dangerous operation of a vehicle in Cairns, QLD

Cairns police have charged a 54-year-old woman after a vehicle was driven into a house in Whitfield overnight, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged the woman and a 48-year-old man were involved in a verbal altercation before the woman drove a vehicle through an exterior wall and into the Atherton Street home.

While no one was injured during the incident, the house sustained significant damage.

Police will allege the woman provided a Breath Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of 0.163 per cent.

The woman has been charged with one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle and being adversely affected by an intoxicating substance.

She is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court today.
