Dangerous operation of motor vehicle in Mount Louisa, QLD

Police are investigating a burglary and subsequent dangerous operation of motor vehicle offence that occurred in Mount Louisa early this morning, Queensland Police say.

Around 1.30am, a 61-year-old man was asleep inside his Tahlia Court home when he was woken by the noise of intruders inside his house.

The man chased them into the street, with the offenders then entering the 61-year-old’s vehicle and driving away.

The man gave chase, and the vehicle then performed a u-turn and drove directly towards the man.

The vehicle ran over the man’s left foot before performing another u-turn and was last seen heading towards Barnett Street.

The 61-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries to left hand and foot. He was transported to the Townsville Base Hospital for treatment.

The stolen vehicle is a 2007 blue Holden Commodore sedan bearing Queensland registration CHASE2.

Anyone who may have seen this vehicle after 1.30am this morning is urged to contact police immediately.

Investigations are continuing.
